Yangyang’s ‘Rainbow Beach Festival’ Opens Successfully at Gisangmun Beach.
On the 29th, ‘Rainbow Beach Festival’ opened successfully at Gisangmun Beach in Yangyang. During the day, young surfers flocked to the beach to enjoy surfing and participate in interactive activities, including customizing their own surfboards. In the evening, a beach party in collaboration with Itaewon club Soap attracted around 2,500 young party-goers.
The festival, reminiscent of Ibiza’s famous party beaches, is expected to offer a compelling alternative for the MZ generation who have been unable to travel abroad due to COVID-19 and busy schedules.
Held over more than a month, the festival features a variety of daytime and nighttime programs, becoming a new attraction for local residents and tourists alike. Gisangmun Beach, along with Ingu Beach and Jukdo Beach, has emerged as one of the hottest surfing destinations among young visitors and surfers.
During the day, festival-goers can participate in programs such as the “Rainbow Tie-Dye” event, which allows anyone to create their own personalized t-shirt for free.
At night, the beach club party features performances by renowned artists, attracting young crowds from across the country. Highlights include performances by top Korean DJ crews and producers, including GoosebumpS from AOMG and WAVYSEOUL.
Han Dong-wan, CEO of The Highest Entertainment, stated, “Yangyang welcomed 14.2 million visitors last year, and we expect the number to grow further. Over the next five years, we plan to continually develop new cultural content and hold the Rainbow Beach Festival annually,” emphasizing the festival’s role in establishing Yangyang as a multi-cultural destination for domestic tourists.
